One day that I had travelled to Haiti I was extremely sadden to see a young man walking but I could not see his feet because there was no difference between the mud he was walking in and his barefeet. I knew if he had the opportunity, this would not be the way he would want to look. Then, after the four devastating hurricanes that ravaged some towns in Haiti in 2008, I took the opportunity to start what I always wanted to do -- make a difference by serving the people with dignity, lifting them up from where the status quo has always kept them. Then came the earthquake January 12, 2010... |
